JetBlue Is Adding New Daily Flights To The Bahamas

JetBlue passengers are about to have more flexibility when it comes to visiting The Bahamas. Starting later this month, the airline will operate daily nonstop flights between Nassau and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

These flights will be the first of several new JetBlue routes to launch this spring and summer aimed at growing JetBlue’s footprint in the skies across the country and beyond.

Flight Details

The new flights will operate between New York’s LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) and Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau, Bahamas.

Inaugural flights will take place on Thursday, March 30^th.

The daily schedule is as follows:

Southbound flights depart LaGuardia Airport at 7:59 am and arrive in Nassau at 11:07 pm. Flying time is 3 hours and 8 minutes.
Northbound flights originating in Nassau will depart at 12:29 pm and arrive at LGA by 3:30 pm. The flying time is 3 hours and 1 minute.

The new LGA – NAS route will operate on JetBlue’s A320 aircraft and will not include Mint cabin service.

A quick search on Google Flights shows plenty of available roundtrip fares for just $350 this spring.

The Bahamas Is Surging In Popularity

The recent late-season winter storms have left many Americans dreaming once more of the Caribbean. In fact, this past January, the nation welcomed 846,000 visitors, up from 300,000 for the same period last year – an increase of 166%.

Especially convenient to East Coasters, The Bahamas is close, affordable, and home to some truly incredible resorts.

While it has long been a popular vacation getaway, it took a big hit during the pandemic.

But now, as the economy continues to recover, more and more tourists are returning to The Bahamas.

Last year’s hotel occupancy reached 65%, up from 42% in 2021, and 2023’s numbers are on track to far outpace previous years.

With this notable increase in tourist traffic in mind, officials have announced plans to redevelop 14 Family Island airports.

Airports, including Exuma International Airport, San Salvador International Airport, and New Bright International Airport in Cat Island, will all undergo major repairs and other upgrades in the coming years.

Why The Bahamas Is So Popular

While most visitors choose The Bahamas for its pristine beaches and sparkling blue waters, there is so much more to see and do.

With over 700 islands and cays to explore, tourists have a plethora of outdoor pursuits to choose from.

More Connectivity Is On The Way

This spring and summer, JetBlue will launch a host of new nonstop routes.

The recent partnership formed with American Airlines, the Northeast Alliance, has made many of these routes possible and is increasing competition in the Northeastern United States. JetBlue’s new routes include:
